Prayer Wellness: Trust

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Welcome to our programme: Spiritual Wellness.

Whereby every Monday we will be talking about spiritual growth, how to be in the Lord and stay active in him. Spiritual Wellness is an activity/process where you discover your life's meaning through the word of God by reading and putting into action the scripturesor the articles that help align you to God's purpose so you're able to walk in the will of God and most importantly, experience the Lord Jesus Christ in your life and building a relationship with him.

Good day, oh wow I’m so happy you made it back, you’ve got no idea how excited been waiting for this day to come from last week Monday. How are you doing? Are you really copying with everything that’s been happening in your life? Oh I see, one thing I know about you is that you’re strong because God continues to give you the strength you need.

Remember where we stopped our conversation last week, we will continue from the question verses. But before we go deeper, let us pray. Father Lord Jesus, we call unto you in this day as we’re about to talk about matters of the spirit. Mostly we’re going to talk about you and we ask as you’ve promised us in the book of Mathew 18:20 "when 2 or 3 gather in your name, you will be in their midst." So today Lord Jesus Christ, be with us as you promised. Holy spirt please teach us and lead us; we will obey. Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

I promised that I will teach you how to trust in God and gave you some few verses to read so that we’re able to reveal more about trust. See trust is an expensive task to do because it comes from the deepest of part your soul where there’s love and pureness. When that trust is broken it taints the love and the purity of it, then affecting your trust towards people in your life; more importantly affecting how you trust God. Trusting God isn’t the same as trusting people, it is completely different. Our problem is that we want to trust God the same we trust people in our lives, sometimes we even trust people more than we do unto our Lord Jesus Christ.

Question asked was; What is trust? How do I trust God? And why trust God more than man (Human Being/People). We’re going to answer those three questions and dissect them deeply for a clearer understanding.

Let’s start with "what is trust?" Trust is a strong belief unto something, someone or higher power, of which that strong power might be accompanied by certain actions or gestures for you to trust on. Trust is made strong by either word or actions, not just words, but uttered with love and care. One person may confuse trust and faith, thinking trust and faith are the same. Well they are not the same at all, it’s just that they work hand in hand with each other.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen-Hebrews 11:1. Substance is a matter/material that helps propel motion or ignite something, therefore faith is like fuel for the things hoped; it is the evidence of things not seen, whereas trust is a strong belief unto something, someone or a higher power.

Then this means the uses of faith and trust are different as well. We trust God then have faith that God exists. Unfortunately, we can’t put faith on people as we can see them but we can put faith towards a certain dream, goal, vision or plan that it will come to pass. Then with people you can put your trust in them by trusting them as a whole or trusting that they won’t do a certain action.

"How do I trust God?" You trust God by letting go of what you know and trust and start working on what God says. Doing this will override your understanding about trust. Don’t trust God the same way you trust people in your life; some of the people in your life have disappointed you, some even broke the level of trust you had in them and that broke you as whole, including your ability to trust God. We trust God by what God promises us and what God has done for us.

The Lord Jesus Christ loves us so much to an extent that he died for us on the cross. See that’s an action that no one can do. People can love you but not die for you. I personally I trust the Lord Jesus Christ who died for my sins and took me out of the kingdom of darkness. He is the king of my life.

Back to the question, how do I trust God? let’s read what God’s word says, Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding". As we said to trust God needs you to let go of what you know then you’ll be able to trust God and with all your heart. The reason you got heart broken when people in your life disappointed you is because you had your heart in the process of trusting them.

See trust doesn’t exist without your heart being involved of which that’s the costly part of trust and trust needs you to be patient. Ps 37:5 "Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass". Trust has commitment that has your entire being involved in trusting God and when you trust you need you to remove all expectations that are based and aligned to your time frame, for God does not operate according to own time frame, He operate with his own timing and we cannot rush God. Just because we Him it doesn't mean we need to rush God hence we said trust needs patience.

Why do I need to trust God than man ?

Psalm 18, "The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, and my Deliverer; my God, my keen and firm Strength in Whom I will trust and take refuge, my Shield, and the Horn of my salvation, my High Tower". That verse answers us as to why we need to Trust the Lord. A rock cannot be moved caused it stands firms and never changes its form, and He is the giver of strength for strength does not come from man but God alone. Even Jesus needed strength when he was praying before the crucifixion, an angel came and strengthened Him. You put your trust in him who delivers you, in him who gives you salvation.

Stop trusting people and trust God with all your heart and soul, yes it's not going to be easy journey but with God on your side who can be against you.

When you put your Trust in Him, don't let what you see with your naked eye derail you and become impatient. I often tell people that when you ask something from God, he won't just won't just give it to you. First He's going to fix your character and mindset for what you've asked so that you're ready for it when it comes. You see how God operates and just because you know, it doesn't mean you must cram Him. No No No! Don't cram God.

You know there's so much we can say about trust and open so many verses, yet at the end of our conversation, you will decide who to put your trust in. Trust me, since God delivered me, I continue to trust Him more every day and every time I asked for something from God he'd change my character first then bless me with the request .

Let's pray Lord God, you are perfectly faithful in everything you do. You show your faithfulness to me in caring for me, protecting me, and providing for my needs. Forgive me for the times I questioned you, grumble about my circumstances, or turned my back on you. I want to be like Moses and trust you even when I’m feeling unsure and my confidence is shaky. Show me one small way I can trust you today. I want to declare your faithfulness with certainty to those around me so they will put their faith and trust in you. Lord I want to trust you with all my heart and soul. Lord Jesus Christ please to be patient in trusting you and Lord Jesus christ please teach me how to focus more in you and not be derailed by what I see with my naked eyes. Holy spirit I ask that you lead me in all ways . I thank you Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen and Amen
